If you can't remove/update the card yourself try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can help you do so :
- go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww
- click on your country's flag (the country where you live, and which is therefore the country on your account)
- click on Contact Support towards the top right
- click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us'

What happens ?
It says I can’t delete my old card details because there’s an active subscription however I lost that card and have a new one
