I have a 2nd generation 32G ipod touch. I recently installed the update to the ipod software and now I can't sync the audiobooks from itunes to my ipod. When I open itunes, click on the Books option under the Library, all of the audiobooks are there and will play on my laptop. But when I try to sync the ipod, manually select the audiobooks I want to sync there are none listed to select from. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
1 Connect iPod touch to your computer, and open iTunes.
2 In iTunes, select iPod touch in the sidebar.
3 Configure the sync settings in the Book settings pane. Scroll down to see your audiobooks.
I have the same problem ... thanks for the response Gerald .. but the problem is that no books show up in the books setting pane
I can see them if I click on books in itunes .. but if you click on the device .. in my case the ipod touch .. it doesn't show any books to sync .. nor will it allow you to drag the books into the device like songs
I have a similar problem where the only books that show up and sync are iBooks but not audio books that are in iTunes.
So I did this to get them onto my iPod.
In iTunes, create a new playlist (File > New Playlist) and name it as the title of your audiobook.
Now in 'Books' in iTunes, double click on the audiobook to open it and display all the tracks.
Next Edit > Select All and drag the contents into the new playlist that you have created.
Sync you ipod.
The only downside to this is that your audiobook will be a playlist in the music section of you ipod but it will be there and in order.
Z.
I hesitate to post this as it may make me look daft. However, I will blast away for the sake of anyone else who might have this problem in the next little while - as it is a result of the 9.2.1.5 update (for me, anyway... I haven't updated in some time). Anyone doing a search will be able to solve the problem in seconds rather than minutes.
The solution (someone already posted this, but not as emphatically) is simply to *SCROLL DOWN* within the "books" tab when your ipod/iphone is connected to itunes and you have selected it on the left pane.
This solution is not obvious if you have a smallish resolution monitor, as audiobooks used to appear at the top. Now, the text books are exclusively at the top. So, if you don't have any text books in your library, everything looks mysteriously empty.
I hope this works for you. Your trouble certainly appears to be the same as what frustrated me for several minutes after I updated today.
Thanks....I struggled with this for awhile as well! Of course it is something very simple. Unfortunatly, my kids learned some new words in the process 🙂
I DON'T BELIEVE IT! I have been searching for a solution to this problem now for a week and was just about to give up. After combing the internet searching for a problem, here you have it and it was so simple. SCROLL DOWN IN THE BOOKS TAB. I have read how there is no solution and here it it. I simply checked "AUDIOBOOK" under the sync books tab and there it is. Worked like a champ! Thank you!
I tried this with my 32G Ipod and it didn't work. I use the manual sync because I've changed computer over the years. I can transfer music but I can't transfer the audiobook. I was able to do this before (a while ago) but now it doesn't work. I get a message that says "title was not copied to IPod because it cannot be play on this IPod".
Okay... I've scrolled down. I've clicked "Sync all audiobooks." I've clicked "Sync selected audiobooks." Nothing works. Every time the sync is over and I open the music player on my iPod, it says "No Audiobooks." 😟 Help!
thank you SO MUCH! I tried everything even uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. I thought I was going CRAZY! I felt like such a moron when i finally scrolled down and found all my books! GRRRR! wasted an hour of my life but ya live and ya learn, right?
