Not able to see when people read my messages

I previously just changed phone numbers and phones. I transferred all my things onto my new phone however, since then I am not able to see when people read my messages. Could this be solved in settings or how is it possible for others and my read messages to be on, but I am not able to see that they read my message?

The ability to know if someone has read your messages is determined by the settings on their device. It is called a Read Receipt, and the recipient is the one that makes that setting. If you turn on Read Receipts on your phone, it will show the sender when you have read their messages. Nothing you can do to show you if someone has read your messages.
