Reformatted disc but can't see whole thing

I have an external drive (5TB) that I reformatted but it's only showing me a portion of the disc.

I did not create a partition.

The disc was in a thunderbolt enclosure, but I reformatted it in a FireWire toaster.

I tried erasing it several times but I can only see 600 GB of the disc.

Thanks for your reply. That's what I just did again, but still can't access the whole disc.

See attached. When I click erase, it will only allow access to a portion of the whole disc

If you can not format the drive, it is indicative of a failed drive or failed enclosure or failed controller (bridge board.)

If you can pull the drive and test by installing into a different enclosure.
