Will Apple finally do something about false advertising?

is Apple aware that many ads on Instagram are falsely promoting what the games in the App Store have to offer?

a good example is Kings Holdings CC (a Chinese company). This isn’t the first time I got lured into this, an ad promoting and showing something that is completely different to how the games look like.

i downloaded Z Day - as it shows a FPS/shooting a horde of zombie kind of genre, to only be disappointed to find out that the game is nothing alike and merely just another RTS speed up game.

im curious how Apple legally handles this? The marketing campaigns behind these games are an utter lie. And people get sucked in.

This is not acceptable behavior

Given what recently happened with Facebook, Google and the banking industry in general, I think Apple should revisit their quality control framework. Are you aware that advertisements on Instagram falsely lead customers into downloading games within the App Store that look nothing alike? In particular from Chinese companies

Apple is responsible for screening the content that goes into the iTunes and Mac App Stores, and the statements made by the vendors in those entities. Apple cannot intervene with the first amendment advertising rights of vendors on websites that Apple has no ownership stake, however false that advertising.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) does however have the power to request that false advertising cease, and/or fine those in that complicity. Someone, perhaps you, can file a complaint with the FTC.

Apple can only police what is in its own stores, such as screenshots and videos. It would be impossible to scour the internet looking for false advertizing. And we are talking about the internet after all. What do you expect? Did you think any of it was true?
