SuperDrive unrecognized and Eject disc does not function

Currently 10.13.6 on a Late 2012 Mac Mini

I previously reported the Eject disc non function situation from a wireless Apple keyboard last year after using it without for quite some time.

Now, after some security updates and such, the CD/DVD SuperDrive occasionally is not recognized.

I power off and most times upon reboot there it is. Otherwise, I must unplug and choose a different USB port.

Frustrating. Seems as Apple keep up with their other iOS devices they are leaving behind their good and some still offered products.

When I last dealt with a tech, on the Eject issue, nothing was solved and they wanted me to upgrade to a 10.14 to fix what they were not interested in looking into.

My apple system is simple and with only necessary software like Adobe, Flash Player and BlackBerry Blend that all were functioning prior to the glitches cropping up.

Anyone have the Eject or Unrecognized CD/DVD player issues?

A Late 2012 Mac Mini does not have a built-in CD/DVD SuperDrive.

If you are referring to an Apple USB SuperDrive? Then take the Apple USB SuperDrive to your local Apple Store or AASP and have it tested.

Personally I have a couple of LG USB CD/DVD drives and have no problems with them on a 2010 Mac Mini running 10.13 or on my 2012 Mac Mini's running 10.14.
