I'm using the very latest of everything. OSX 10.14.5, Keynote 9.0.2 (6197)
(The early (2007-2014) responses to similar problems are no help.)
The MOV video is embedded in a slide, and it plays fine in Edit mode.
It will not display and play in the Presentation.
any ideas anyone.
Previously - this has worked fine. Perhaps it's this latest update, I don't know. But it used to work, now it doesn't.

Thanks. I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and it turns out it’s a known bug in keynote.
If a “Record Slideshow” is made with an embedded video in a slide, any slide, then the video is deleted when it’s exported. Not the audio, just the video.
if however, the presentation slideshow is just exported without recording then it exports ok.
So, Apple is working on it.
Meantime,I have to add an audio track to the finished exported video in iMovie.

what is the video CODEC used in the original video file (open the file in QT Player then go to Window > Show Movie Inspector
and report back what is listed next to Format
I assume you are clicking the mouse or pressing the spacebar to play the video in Keynote?
ok, responding to my own post. It's lonely out here.
I've tried everything. Nothing works. and I"ve discovered an interesting thing. Searching back through old internet posts - same topic, I see some references to QuickTime being the culprit. !!! So I tried Microsoft's PowerPoint. Which I have as well. Same problem can you believe.
So it's not just Keynote - it's also PowerPoint.
So I need to dig deeper. Could it be the video drivers playing up?
Well I'm stumped. Nothing I do makes that sucker play.
When the Keynote Presentation is exported - the audio of the inserted video plays, but the video doesn't.
This is an ancient problem, first appearing way back in the early 2000, about 2007 I think and still bugging us.
