LGUD58-B Setup

Just acquired a new LGUD58-B 27" monitor to match my 27" iMac monitor. However I seem to be unable to setup the LG monitor to 2560 x 1440 to match my iMac's. It wakes up at 1940 x 1060. And a new problem has emerged. The System Preferences display now pops up on the LG monitor, but the mouse will not cross over.

Turning off the LG monitor does not help, need to physically remove the cable from my iMac, but then the LG of course does not show up on monitor adjustments. Plug it back in and the SP still pops up in the LG screen, can't get the mouse to cross over to make adjustments. Driving me nuts.

Sounds like the Arrangement is backwards. In other words, if the LG is sitting on the right, then try moving your mouse to the left or if the LG is on the left, then try moving your mouse to the right.

I'm glad to hear that it's no longer driving you nuts.

I do not use Chrome, so I'm not sure how or what it dud..? Perhaps you need to visit and change the Full Screen settings in the Chrome Preferences.

In addition, I encourage you to look at, Apple > System Preferences > Mission Control and uncheck "Group windows by applications" and "Displays have separate Spaces" if you are not using them.

We are both right. Everything I tried woke up in the LG, but the mouse was stuck in my iMac, Then I got a brain wave.... I clicked on Chrome and clicked on "New Window". To my surprise, it woke up in my iMac, and it in turn seemed to provoke everything else to wake up in my iMac. I was then able to bring up the display arrangement, and transfer the dominant display back to my iMac, whereupon everything turned back to normal. I'm not sure what I dud right, but the final result is that my mouse now crosses over both ways normally, and I'm now able to move apps back and forth normally. Had me baffled.
