Still no custom Apple Watch Faces?

Four years into the Apple Watch's life and we still can't create our own watch faces? Seriously? I want to design my own face in Illustrator or Photoshop and then use customizable hands and day/date complications. This is really a questionable move by Apple to not allow this for sooooo long.
