How does one remove the blue triangle in the lower right corner?

If you mean this, shown in the navigator when a transition is applied to a slide:
It can't be removed unless the transition is removed, however, there is no need for it to be removed, it's only displayed in edit mode and will not be seen by the viewers when Keynote is in play.
