Departure of iTunes

I just received notice that iTunes would soon be discontinued. What happens to my movies, music, t.v. purchases that are stored on iTunes? What happens to the credit I have?

iTunes is not being discontinued. The iTunes application on a Mac is getting replaced by 3 new apps in the new macOS Catalina. The TV, Music and Podcasts App will replace iTunes if you update to that version.

Your purchases will be available in the relevant App on macOS Catalina as will your credit balance.

If you do not update to macOS 10.15 Catalina, then nothing will happen, and iTunes will continue to work as it has.
