Hi All,
I am using a QWERY keyboard, but have need to also connect an AZERTY for the use of other members in my household. The problem is, while both KBs work they both respond as the same (either AZERTY or QWERTY) and not different.
My question is how can I fix this so that each KB responds true to type?

I found a solution. I've managed to add the 2nd KB in the "Input Sources" tab of the Keyboard section of the preferences icon. Now I have the ability to switch between the two by selecting the desired kb in the top right of the command bar. Peace and calm has returned to my household!

I don't believe it's possible. You have to switch Input sources to the one you want to use.

No problem to have multiple keyboards all working. But the mapping of the keys is not determined by the hardware, but by a setting you make in MacOS, and it applies to all the keyboards. The OP wants that setting to change automatically depending on which keyboard is being used.

You might be able to do this using a special app, but exactly how you would have to find out from their own forums.
You can rapidly switch between two keyboard layouts via a keyboard shortcut, usually Control plus Space (see system preferences/keyboard/shortcuts/input sources). Or you could set up separate user accounts and switch between them using Fast User Switching.
haven't tried it with keyboards but I had 4 mice connected and working at once to both a mac and a windows box
FWIW, I still stand by my original post. In some way, shape or form you have to switch between them.
Apologies. I thought you already had them set and just didn't want to have to choose between them.

Good news! I mistakenly thought you needed to have this happen automatically without action on your part.
As mentioned earlier, you can also switch via keyboard shortcut, normally Control plus Space.
