Apple TV question

Can you use an Apple TV 4K on a tv that is not 4K? I have a dumb tv and currently have the 1st gen Apple TV, its time for an upgrade and I am not sure which one that I should purchase.

Thank you!!

Yes you can, that will work, but you’ll really see the benefits when you upgrade the TV, too. Dumb/smart is irrelevant, as Apple TV takes over the ‘smart’ (=internet connected/apps) bit for the TV.

Apple TV 4K will match resolution for screens from 640×480 up to 3840×2160.
