Late 2013 Model iMac (Mojave 10.14.5) Running Slow After Creating Second Profile
I recently started using my girlfriend's Late 2013 Model iMac for schoolwork, writing, etc. After creating a second profile so that I could avoid interfering with her settings and sync/back my work up to google drive, the iMac began running extremely slow about 70% of the time. The mac itself and nearly all the apps are slow to startup and the apps are often unresponsive. I am often running into "beachballing" issues as well.
I have checked the storage, which is only about a quarter of the 1TB full. I am not especially knowledgeable with items more technical than that. I understand that this is an older model, but it really did happen very suddenly and it does not seem to me that it is an issue of degrading hardware.
I ran an etrecheck and will post the report below. It states that the iMac's performance is "Good" and the only major issue is that I don't have a Time Machine backup. However, I am backed up to iCloud and Google Drive. It doesn't seem like the lack of a Time Machine backup would have any cause of the slow performance, but I guess I can't know that for sure with the relatively little understanding I have of these systems. Additionally, it states that I do not have Full Drive Access enabled, but I did enable it before running the check. I'm not sure why it is saying that it's disabled.
Any help resolving the issue is greatly appreciated!
