Are there any other brands of devices like the Apple Pencil available from other manufacturers? Are they cheaper and worth considering? $100 seems like a lot for a device like the Apple Pencil. Thanks…

There is also, the Logitech crayon.
But, that only has palm rejection and tilt sensitivity. No screen pressure sensitivity.
