safari annoying icons

Safari, 12.1.1-IOS 10.014.5

On the left side of the "favorites" bar there are half dozen annoying little icons. Just below the3 colored buttons. They are of no use or meaning to me. One is an Ebay link that I've never heard of. I can't figure out what they are called to even find a way to delete them. So what the heck are they and how to I delete them for ever?
