Thank you, I was suspicious about this. Why would Apple only give me 4 minutes to action this? I did notice the Not Secure as well. Any way, I took a screen dump and closed the page.

Notice how that web page, unlike this discussions.Apple.com web page lacks the security padlock, and Safari is specifically warning you that site is "not secure"
That is a scam and you were wise to question it. Close that page.
Install https://malwarebytes.com/mac and do an actual-legitimate scan on your system.
It is not Apple, but a scammer.
