Can I use a second super drive to boot up Mojave

I want to use a second super drive to use Mojave. So that I can maintain my Yosemite 10.10.5

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.14

You can't use a SuperDrive as that is a CD/DVD drive. You can use any external drive formatted APFS or Mac OS Extended (which will then be formatted APFS on installation).
