Wrecked Apple Watch Screen

I started using Apple Watch 4 few days back.

Bad news: A simple 3 foot fall from closet the screen and screen is

completely wrecked (see pics). Worst news: What is more painful is that

getting repairs done is almost as expensive as buying a new apple watch.

What is going on with famed apple durability ?

I own a iPad Pro since many years. I have been using iPhone since many years (recently upgraded to iphone X). Really liked apple stuff but now my faith in famed apple quality has

been rattled by the apple watch damage and how expensive it is to get

any repairs done.

I'm so sorry this happened my friend! And yes you are correct in that getting the screen serviced is about the cost (80%-ish) of getting a whole new Watch 4. I'm assuming you don't have AppleCare+ accidental damage protection that you know of? You may want to double-check this (especially if you have a cellular Apple Watch 4 and bought it through your carrier, you may have this and not realize it).

Just to be clear, is this the regular Aluminum Apple Watch 4, or did you pay much more for the Stainless Steel Watch 4? (I'm wondering if that's the SS in your SSWatchUser name)
