I can't find my Screenshots. Old Macs ALWAYS put them on Desktop. GRRR!

I am so thoroughly disappointed with my new MacBook Air, purchased March 23, 2019. SO MANY GOOD THINGS about Mac are disappearing with each new design. BOOO!

Right now I'm nearly in tears of rage because I can't find my Screenshot. I don't have time or patience for this! How do I get my Screenshots, or for that matter, anything that used to be on my Desktop, back where I want them? I'd LOVE to grab the designers of the new Macs by the lapels and shake them. Why? Why? Why?

Apple, you used to be so easy and fun. Bit by bit you're turning into PCs. Stop it!

I doubt there's a single soul at Apple who cares a hoot about the customers anymore. Shame!

Thanks for responding.

I wish it were true with me, but it isn’t. I haven’t changed settings. I’ve had computers since the early ‘90’s, all of them Macs, mostly iMacs, also MacBook Pro, five iPod Touches, iPhone, and now this. I certainly haven’t changed any settings.

When I put Screenshots in the search ‘magnifying glass,’ it says it’s unknown. Sooo...

i just don’t know. I’ve tried a few times, to be sure I took the shot, hear the click, etc., and then ... nothing.

So discouraging.

Is there anything else you (or anyone?) can think of that might do the trick? I’m just stymied. Thanks.
