how to verify Time Machine back up of pictures

When in a TM backup copy I double click on the Photos Library, this launches the Photos app, which displays, I believe, the original photos on my Mac, not the backup. How do I verify the backup? Thank you.

The safest way to verify a backup of your Photos Library is trying to restore the Photos Library from the backup. When I want to test a backup, I restore the Photos Library from it to anther disk (formatted McOS Extended (Journaled) or APFS. Verify backup is a good consistency check, but does not ensure, that the library will be working as a Photos Library.
