Which iPhone to buy? 5,5c or 4s

I am actually looking for a second phone so that i can sneak it into college. I just want 4g/3g connectivity, above average point and shoot camera and a small form factor. I am actually intrested in purchasing a new iPhone 5c unlocked from ebay instead of going with a refurbished one. I am planning o use this phine for three years. The 4s is smaller than the 5 and 5c. I am confused which one should i pick up?

If you want an old iPhone as a second phone at least do yourself a favor and get an iPhone 5s vs the 5 / 5c / 4s. As of this moment the iPhone 5s can still run the latest iOS (13) until iOS 13 comes out this fall. You can buy them for $60 on Ebay. The $20 or $30 cheaper you can get a 4s / 5 / 5c for is definitely not worth it. At least the iPhone 5s should be able to limp along as a second iPhone for iCloud access, Messages, and calling for the next few years at college.

However, if you can wait, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are also being dropped (along with the iPhone 5s) from iOS 13 support this Fall, so those should be pretty cheap by the end of this year on the used market.

Even though you primarily want to use it for web access, I would still keep this in mind. Being one version out of date for iOS isn't bad, but being several versions out of date can be annoying.
