Borderless printing

I'm not sure if this is a Pages issue or not, but here goes..

i created a Pages document, ultimately to upload to Staples to be printed. The document has an image background, and looked fine in print preview. But when I exported to PDF, print preview there shows a white border. I can’t just expand the image, because the resolution is too low. Is there any way to get it borderless?

i already tried the “stretch to fit” option at Staples, which got rid of the border but pixelated the image. I need to fix this online now, rather than go back to Staples.

Ah, I have a HP Deskjet, probably doesn’t support borderless printing, but then why does it show no border in print preview in Pages? It was only when I exported to PDF that the border showed up.

i don’t need to print borderless on my own printer, as I'm having it done by Staples, but they don’t accept Pages format.
