ipod touch disabled

Ipod touch is disabled. Keeps saying connect to itunes...but is not showing up in itunes.Help!!!

connecting to itunes with disabled ipod touch 7 I have scearch and looked at ways to get my sons ipod touch 7 to connect to itunes. It is disabled and is on the screen that says "disabled connect to itunes". I have had no luck at holding the home and sleep buttons down. it keeps coming back up to the same screen as before. I am completely clueless on what to do next. Any help would be nice.
