So only option is to erase the device? I did a backup I believe earlier when charged the phone this afternoon otherwise if backup happens once a day at same time then that was last time. I'm just not sure where/how to get all my data back on the phone, would it be from Icloud somehow?

If iCloud Backup is turned on, it should backup there if you have space.
