unable to stream music over cellular data

Playback error Connect to Wifi or change your settings for streaming music. I have cellular data turned on in settings for both the app and Apple Music. Amazon Music and Spotify also won't play and both have cellular data turned on. I have restarted the device, closed all apps, turned wifi off and on, logged in and out of icloud...tried anything and everything.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're unable to stream over cellular data from various musics services (Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify specifically). This is occurring even though cellular data seems to be on for those apps. I'm happy to help!


Based on what you've described, I'd suggest checking to see if there are any restrictions set with Screen Time on your device: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support.


If you don't see that parental controls are set up but are still unable to stream your content over cellular data, check to see if there are any updates to your iOS software: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support or your carrier settings: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.
