apple watch flashes logo

I had not charged or used my apple watch for quite some time. When I put it on the charger, the apple logo comes on turns red and goes away, does it again will not boot and doesn't show charging. using the original charging caable.

If i hold both buttons on the side and continue to hold when the apple logo comes on, I get a red circle with a line thru it.
