If you open Mail preferences, then click on the Accounts button you should see your accounts displayed below. From the list select iCloud. In the window on the right slick on Server Settings. Be sure "iCloud" is selected from the dropdown menu. Also, in the window is a checkbox labeled, "Enable this account." Be sure the box is checked.
From Mail's Mailbox menu select Take All Accounts Online. If this option is not active (ghosted) then recheck your server setting as discussed above.

Who is your email provider? Have you checked your configuration to be sure you have entered the correct settings?
It is Mail and I didn't change any settings. It worked fine up until yesterday. Now it says all offline, but doesn't give me anyway to go back on line.
My provider is apple. me.com iCloud
