I have iPhone 7 Plus both 128gb and 256gb variant.
When I listen to music on 256gb variant. The volume is decent and audible.
When I listen to same music on 128gb variant. I can barely hear the music.
question - is the music output different for each of this device and that is why the problem?

Check the charging port for lint or other debris. Also see this:
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker
If you canât hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isnât clear on your iPhoneÂ
If your headphones donât work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
