Stop links from opening inside in-app web browsers

Sometimes when I open a link, instead of opening in an actual web browser app, it opens in a captive, crippled web browser inside the app I was using. This means it doesn't go into my browser history, I can't open multiple tabs -- and I can't go on using the original app without losing the thing I opened.

In other words, it's a complete anti-feature. Worse than useless.

How do I block that from happening, and force all links, all the time to open in a real browser?

iPhone SE, iOS 12

Tap the Share button inside the in-app browser and then tap "Open in Safari".

Also check the settings of the apps where you click the links. Sometimes they offer to open everything in Safari but this option isn't enabled by default.
