Resetting an Ipad Mini

My friend gave me her Ipad Mini. She took her information off (reset) bur the pad is so very slow. I would like to know how I can reset it and remove what ever apps, data, or whatever is there slowing it down. Can someone give me EASY directions how to accomplish this?
