Charging for supposed free apps

Why does this happen especially on Netflix etc when u r supposed to get 3-9 months free but are charged immediately?

If it shows as a charge on your iTunes account and isn't just a : About payment card authorization holds from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support

contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww (click on your country's flag, the country where you live, and which is therefore the country on the account ; click on Contact Support towards the top right ; click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us’)
