Photos selection delay in imessage

When I am trying to text someone a photo, the photos selection screen is extremely slow to load. Sometimes it doesn’t load at all and I have to reattempt.


I have removed all photos and restarted the phone. It worked for a short while and starts acting up again.


Anyone else experiencing this problem?? I am in the latest IOS update for the iPhone X

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand photos are slow to load in Messages. You've reached the right place for help.


Here are some suggestions:

  • Try switching the iPhone on a Wi-Fi network to see if you experience the same thing.
  • If you use iCloud for your Photos, make sure Photos has cellular access in Settings > Cellular > Photos.
