I've got a lot of crumbs and salt stuck inside the keys. Although it doesn't affect the way I use my keyboard, it's still very annoying. It it safe to pull it out? Will it become loose when I put it back in?

Do NOT remove any keys on the 2016 or later MacBook Pro.
They will NOT go back on happily, and your keyboard will be ruined.
In those Macs, the remedy for a single broken key is a top-case replacement, including keyboard, trackpad, battery, and top-plate. It is pricey.

It can be extremely tricky to get the keys back on properly even for an experience Mac technician to get this back on properly, and sometimes it's impossible.
