FWIW, the player may not be compatible with Mojave. You still have to ask SanDisk if it is or isn't and if they have a fix.
If you are referring to 'hardware' or brand name (not software in macOS)
then you are speaking a different language. ~ In most vintage Macs, the
default player software is iTunes. Other third-party software could work.
To find hardware player, you may need to look into About this Mac and
go through the chain of hardware associated with devices plugged in
or on dependent on specific routes where connections are required.
A 'card reader' is a hardware device; if image files are present, could be
your default software may be Photos. And if Music, it'd be iTunes, etc.
If USB, internal, or hardwired; see hardware chain in 'system information'.

I am going to guess that she wants to load MP3's onto the SANDISK SD card, but can't see the disk on the desktop. This has been reported before, I believe.

If you're trying to use a SanDisk MP3 player with your Mac, contact SanDisk and ask them. That's not an apple product.
