Unauthorized purchase

I got an email about a purchase I did not approve totaling $29.98. I tried to cancel the Payment via the link imbedded in the invoice and it asked for my SS#. This sent up a red flag. Why would Apple ask for my SS# to cancel a transaction when my Apple ID had already been confirmed.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message, as an attachment to Apple.

If you logged into the bogus site, change your Apple ID password immediately. If you provided financial info, contact your bank immediately.
