I can't send any emails from my iCloud email account on my MAC. I can if i go to iCloud and click email.
I can receive emails but can't send any. When I go to Mail >Preference and click iCloud, the "Account Information status is Offline and there is a check in the box 'Enable this account'. On the Server Setting tab the Outgoing Mail Account is "iCloud (Offline). The dropdown box has none that are online.

In account preferences for mail check the box of enable account , and when you click on drop down arrow of edit server settings inspite of choosing none select iCloud .
It depends upon the service provider you are using generally , automatically manage settings works you don't need to add port settings .
On top menu bar > mailbox click on take account online .
