How Do I remove Weknow from Chrome browser?

When I open my Chrome homepage, the browser looks different and at the bottom left it says Weknow. I believe my computer has been infected with some sort of spyware or malware. How do I remove Weknow?

Hello kayak322,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that your homepage in Chrome is directing to 'Weknow' and you would like to know how to remove it from your MacBook Pro. I would be happy to help point you towards a resolution.

If you suspect that you may have malware on your Mac, you may want to consider a third-party adware or malware removal tool, such as Malwarebytes:

If the behavior is happening in Safari as well, here are some additional steps to take:

It's also a good idea to check and see if you may have any unrecognized profiles installed from System Preferences > Profiles. You'll want to look for profiles that affect settings for Safari or Chrome. It may or may not reference the 'we know.ac' website. If you do remove a profile, be sure to log out of your user account and log back in once it has been removed.

If the issue is occurring only in Chrome and it still happens after trying those steps, we'll want to have you reach out to Google Chrome support for additional help:

Take care!
