Contact Cards not coming up in Contacts

All of a sudden my contacts are not showing up on my Mac. I have gone to System Preferences in iCloud and Contacts is check. Also in Internet accounts - Contacts are selected. The contacts are all there when I use the browser. Why are they not showing up on the Mac app?

Try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop Contacts syncing by unchecking the box. Wait a couple of minutes, then check syncing. Allow time for the sync to complete.
