Why won’t emails delete from my iPhone when I delete them on my iPad??

Syncing emails for iPhone & IPad For some reason if I delete an email on my iPhone it does not delete the email on the iPad. If I delete an email on my iPad it will delete the email on my iPhone. I need them to sync together whether I’m deleting on either device

The answer depends completely on your email service provider and the type of email account you have (IMAP vs. POP).
