iCloud Messages

My messages take up 4.7 Gb of space on my iCloud when I only have 5. I want to take my messages out of the iCloud but still have them on my phone. When I go into iCloud -> Manage Storage -> Messages, the option I get is "Disable and Delete" does this option allow me to keep my messages on my phone but take them off iCloud?
