How to stop autocorrect from autofilling in Safari

When I'm in Safari and I type a word wrong, the little autocorrect text box pops up. I'd like to keep that text box, but the problem is the text autofills even when I don't click on it. The moment I hit space bar, the word is changed. And it does this multiple times, so it doesn't even seem to be disabled by deleting the word. I want autocorrect in case I misspell a word, I just don't want it autofilling. Is there a way to get this feature without disabling autocorrect?

Try going to System Preferences/Keyboard/Text and uncheck Correct spelling automatically. Then go to Safari/Edit/Spelling & Grammar and make sure it is unchecked there.
