Unable to pair apple watch series 2

I am getting "your apple watch could not pair with your phone" when i try to pair my series 2 watch with iPhone XR, can anyone help?

Hey there!

Sorry to hear this. Try these steps force reset the watch by holding both the Digital Crown and power button until the Apple logo. Did you get this watch from a Apple authorized reseller or from a website like eBay.
