Removing Bing malware from Safari

This is a response to a post from 2016 by Linc Davis. Their long, detailed instructions worked. I tried about six other solutions, but none solved the problem. Following Linc's instructions, the Bing malware is finally removed from both Safari and Chrome on my MacBookAir. Others may find this helpful.
