connection printer to iPad

I am trying to connect ipad 9.7 to Canon MG2950 which does not support airprint

iPad mini, iOS 9

Unless Canon offers an app for this printer, which permits wireless printing, you can't connect it to your iPad. Airprint enabled printers are pretty inexpensive, so perhaps it's time for a new printer.
