Old Apple ID is like a fungus....

So, fairly new iPad that I let my son unbox, he loaded info using his mother’s initial ID....which now has me in a Groundhog Day situation with the fact that it continues to want to “update” the actual “Apple Store App” which in itself is not deletable, not like a random app, so her Id remains attached to it as it appears for eternity? Driving me insane...I’ve read tons of suggestions on here, but none that mentions what to do if the app is non-deletable? Thanks

Sign out of your wife's Apple ID (you need the ID and password) then Restore the device as New by connecting it to the computer and opening iTunes. Then you can sign in using your Apple id and password.

To update an app open the App Store app. Tap on the update icon at the bottom. All apps for which updates are available should appear. The rest should be obvious.
