I was following the support/help directions to sync my contacts using iTunes. However, iTunes said that my contacts & calendar are synced by air. So is are these directions out of date? Also, my contacts are not synced so how do I know it's happening by air?

Is your Mac using iCloud as the default? When you go to settings>contacts>default account - what is listed there? What you are going to have to do is a very involved multistep process. To keep from confusing myself I am just going to list them numerically.

Also, make sure that you are look at the contacts and not just the final number because there could be duplicates.

Nonetheless, my Mac shows 249 cards in contacts and my iPhone shows 274 cards in contacts. I want all the contacts in both places.
