WiFi issues on my MacBook Pro

My internet only seems to work for a few minutes, sometimes longer stretches, before it stalls out and I have to restart my laptop in order for it to work. It has just started this recently. All other devices work fine. TV, phones, my husband’s tablet. We have restarted the router a couple of times. I work from my laptop so it’s getting difficult to do.

Thanks!

Hi,

Try to run Apple Diagnostics if it reports something.

If it reports reference code:

CNW007

CNW008

Your WiFi hardware may be having an issue.

Try to contact Apple support or make Genius Bar reservation.

I would try a $10 Edimax external USB nano Wi-FI adapter for the Mac as a test, especially if your MacBook Pro is out of warranty. Especially if your MacBook is a few years old, Wi-Fi does go bad and start to wear out. If this works well you can consider keeping it or going ahead and getting the Wi-Fi adapter in your Mac serviced (replaced) by the Apple Store.
