Upgrade to 32 bit - Can't use Microsoft Office?

It is unclear to me what I am supposed to do to get an app that says 32 bit to operate on my Mac in the future. Microsoft Office 2008 says it is 32 bit. Other than buying a whole new suite, what can I do to continue to use WORD?

There is nothing you can do to make a 32-bit application work on the strictly 64-bit macOS 10.15 (Catalina). If you feel that you must keep using an eleven year old version of Office 2008 for Mac, then do not upgrade to macOS 10.15. There is no assurance that your long discontinued software will continue to work in Mojave (10.14) after any future updates to that operating system.

Microsoft Office365 (subscription) or single-purchases of Office 2016 or 2019 for Mac are all 64-bit application suites and presently supported on macOS Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave, and Catalina when it is released.
