Screen has 1" white bar

What should I try to reset screen? Already have turned on/off

iPhone X, iOS 12

Is the bar there no matter what app you're in?

Take a screenshot and look at it. If the white bar isn't there, then your phone has a problem with its screen and you need to make an appointment at an Apple store for help.
